Position Summary

Report to: Program Development Manager

Working day: Mon - Sat (8:00am - 5:00pm)

CITA Institute is seeking a dynamic, communicative, and structured English Coordinator to manage our language curriculum and evaluate student proficiency. Based in Phnom Penh, you will be instrumental in ensuring high standards of English language acquisition across all departments, equipping students with the communication skills required for the modern workforce. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in language acquisition strategies and a proven track record in instructional coordination or curriculum design.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Management & Quality Assurance:
  • Coordinate the selection of textbooks, digital language learning tools, and teaching methodologies for various proficiency levels.
  • Review, refine, and update English language training modules to ensure they support the technical and professional vocabulary needed by CITA students.
  • Oversee the design and standardization of placement tests, mid-term examinations, and final evaluations.
  • Faculty Support & Coordination:
  • Facilitate onboarding for new language instructors, manage teaching schedules, and distribute instructional resources.
  • Organize peer reviews, class observations, and professional development sessions to maintain high teaching standards.
  • Maintain structured records of student attendance, grades, and program feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Immersive Learning & Extracurriculars:
  • Plan and execute English clubs, speaking workshops, or cross-departmental language initiatives to promote an active learning environment.
  • Support international exchange initiatives or student preparation programs by verifying language competencies.

Languages

  • English - Fluent
  • Khmer - Good

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in TEFL, TESOL, English Literature, Linguistics, or Education. An active TEFL/CELTA certificate is highly desirable

Work History

  • Teaching English for 3 years as a minimum
  • Supervisory, coordinating, or curriculum-design role for 1 year as a minimum

General & Technical Skills

  • TVET Knowledge: Familiarity with integrating workplace-focused English and technical vocabulary into vocational training programs.
  • Technical Skill: Demonstrated success in curriculum development, rubric design, and utilizing digital tools for language testing and tracking.
  • Language: Exceptional written and spoken English proficiency, along with professional communication skills in Khmer.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and cross-cultural communication skills; ability to inspire instructional excellence and manage multiple schedules effectively under pressure.
