Task description
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Chief Security Advisor, the UN Volunteer will support the following tasks: 1. Road Safety Support
Assist in developing and implementing road safety awareness campaigns for UN personnel and partners.
Collect and analyze data on road incidents involving UN staff, and support recommendations for safer travel practices.
Support UNDSS in assessing the safety of commonly used travel routes and compiling travel advisories.
Conduct or support road safety briefings and trainings, including defensive driving awareness.
Coordinate with UN agencies and partners on sharing best practices and lessons learned regarding road safety.

1. Occupational Health and Safety

Assist in the identification and assessment of workplace safety risks in UN premises and advise on mitigation measures.
Help organize and facilitate trainings on first aid, fire safety, emergency evacuation, and other relevant safety topics.
Maintain an updated record of safety equipment and emergency response kits across UN premises. esoXzo4 ODLsj
Support regular inspections and drills to ensure readiness and awareness among staff.
Assist in organizing and facilitating joint training sessions for UN personnel and SLT partners on key safety and security topics, such as personal security awareness, first aid, crisis response, and emergency preparedness.

1. SLT Framework Implementation

Support UNDSS in enhancing collaboration with implementing partners under the SLT framework.
Assist in the coordination and information-sharing between UNDSS and INGO/NGO partners on safety and security matters and participate in relevant humanitarian meetings.
Help maintain and update partner contact lists and ensure regular dissemination of relevant security advisories.
Contribute to organizing joint safety briefings, trainings, or simulation exercises involving SLT partners.
Support UNDSS in documenting and reporting SLT coordination efforts and feedback from partners.

Assist in drafting reports, safety updates, and presentations related to UNDSS activities.
Maintain records of trainings, risk assessments, and safety evaluations.
Support communication and coordination between UNDSS and agency focal points.
