Position Purpose

Study Abroad Counsellor will provide advice and support to prospective study abroad students throughout the process of identifying and selecting appropriate courses, education institutions, scholarships, and applying for course entry and visas. In addition, counselors are responsible for providing application support to family members applying for partner, guardian or visitor visas.

Counsellors play a supporting role in providing information to education partners and providing training to school and university-based study abroad staff to understand the process and required levels of documentation for student applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Education Partner & Business Development
• Identify and conduct outreach with prospective education partners, form agreements.
• Attend university and education partner training events and workshops.
• Student Counselling & Placement
• Identify the skills and career interests and goals of prospective students.
• Counsel prospective students regarding appropriate study abroad options.
• Application & Visa Processing
• Complete application forms for admissions and visas on behalf of applying students, gathering all required documentation and background information and conducting necessary checks and verification. Ensure the follow-up with the clients on their application status until the case is complete.
• Liaise with overseas education providers throughout the application process, responding in a timely manner to all requests.
• Client Communication & Case Management
• Liaise with applying students resolving queries and sourcing addition information as required
• Provide status updates to applicants throughout the process
• Data Management & Confidentiality
• Maintain all confidential client information and documents in a secure manner as per the relevant policy.
• Maintain and update the database and register of all applications and their admission and visa status
• Operational & Management Support
• Consult with senior management and Expert registered migration agents, where necessary, for technical support and advice on admission and immigration.
• Marketing & Events
• Represent Expert Education in school and university onsite information sessions and other marketing events.
• Organize study abroad tours as directed by management
• Professional Conduct
• Act responsibly, professionally and with integrity and uphold all company values in all aspects of the role.
• General
• Perform other tasks as reasonably instructed by management.

Languages

• Khmer - Good
• English - Good

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline as a minimum

Work History

• Professional experience in the study abroad sector for 1 year as a minimum

General & Technical Skills

• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Khmer
• Strong knowledge of the Cambodian and International educational systems
• Good knowledge of Expert destination countries
• Strong computer skills in word processing and database usage
• Experience in customer service and administrative work is preferred
• Qualified Education Counsellor Certificate preferred
