Backend Development Assistant

Position Summary

The Backend Development Assistant is responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of backend services and APIs using Node.js and related technologies. The role assists in developing API endpoints, implementing business logic, working with databases, fixing technical issues, and supporting application testing and improvements. The Backend Development Assistant works closely with Developers, QA Engineers, Frontend Developers, and other team members to understand assigned requirements, complete development tasks under guidance, resolve identified issues, and help ensure that backend services are functional, reliable, and maintainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.

Work History

• Backend development, software development, or a related role. for 1 to 2 years as a minimum

General & Technical Skills

• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with relational databases and database design.
• Experience working in a team-based software development environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with NestJS, Express.js, Fastify, or similar Node.js frameworks.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, and API design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar relational databases.
• Understanding of JWT, OAuth 2.0, authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing.
• Quick to learn new computer software and/or database system
