Primary Mathematics Trainer and Coach

Workplace Circumstances

Position Summary

Cambodian nationals only.

Where you will work

This is a full-time post based in Siem Reap, with travel to schools in the province.

As a start, you will help design the course and its materials. In a second phase, you will pilot it with a group of around 20 primary teachers and coach them in their own classrooms. Throughout, your work will shape the programme before any wider rollout.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of the course, the training materials and the assessment tools.
• Deliver weekly workshops to primary teachers.
• Observe and coach teachers in their classrooms.
• Keep records of participants' progress and report on the programme.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, education or a related field

General & Technical Skills

• Experience teaching mathematics in primary school, and experience training or coaching teachers.
• Good knowledge of the Cambodian primary mathematics curriculum.
• Fluent in Khmer and a working knowledge of English.
• Willing to travel to schools in Siem Reap province.
• Experience with the Early Grade Mathematics package or the VVOB mathematics materials is an asset.
• Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset, takes initiative, and is willing to experiment, embrace new ideas and explore uncharted territory.
