RNOP Principal Consultant (Radio Network Optimization & Planning)

Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible to oversee the technology adaption to Plan and Optimize the Radio Network and prepare an integrated technology plan for capex spend in Network towards expanding network, ensuring high network performance, and optimizing resource utilization.

Also, ensure that the technology plan is in accordance with the business plan and results in sustainable business growth and most efficient investment in its network and services.

Job Responsibilities

Radio Network Optimization technical governance:

• Formulate radio network optimization guidelines/policies using advanced functional/technical knowledge
• Drive key network quality improvement initiatives with relevant internal and external stakeholders
• New technology/solution deployment research and evaluation considering network quality perspectives and setting appropriate guidelines for deployment

Radio Network Planning:

• Works across team, department and across the organization in planning and executing Radio Network plan.
• Understand Network scenarios, suggest and create appropriate solution & fine tune Radio Network plan &  check performance.
• Troubleshoot complex Radio planning issues and provide guidance across all levels.
• Create new applications using expertise in Radio planning.
• To be a Subject matter expert (SME) in Radio Network planning.
• Apply advanced Radio planning knowledge to process innovation and complex problem solving.
• Guide and advice others using technical expertise and knowledge on planning for troubleshooting of complex technical issues.

Data Analysis & Reporting: 

• Guide team on Analysing Network QOS reports, Optimization tools’ outputs, Field test logs to identify and implement network optimization tasks
• Direct team on structuring/enriching network performance reports delivered to regulator and internal senior management
• Guide team on Analysing Network QOS reports, Optimization tools’ outputs, Field test logs to identify and implement network optimization tasks
• Direct team on structuring/enriching network performance reports delivered to regulator and internal senior management 
• Troubleshoot and provide guidance across all levels regarding Radio network capacity and coverage forecasting, trending and visualization
• Works across team, department and across the organization in understanding and developing Radio network models used for network and business needs
• Provide Radio network forecasting and modelling expertise as relevant to own and other functions.
• Applies advanced functional or technical knowledge to process innovation and complex problem solving related to Radio Network.

RNO tools and Automation: 

• Research and Guide teams to identify best in class tools for optimization, deploying them and managing them as applicable in relevant context
• Driving automation initiatives related to network quality enhancement and reporting functions

Network Auditing & Optimization: 

• Researching and Guiding team for new feature deployment, parameter optimizations and RNO product R & D with continuous technology evolution
• Troubleshoot complex Radio optimization issues and provide guidance across all levels.
• Create new applications using expertise in Radio optimization.
• Works across team, department and across the organization in planning and executing Radio Network optimization solutions.
• Understand Network scenarios, suggest and create appropriate solution & fine tune Radio Network optimization plan and  check performance.
• Works across team, department and across the organization in planning , executing and performance verification of Radio Network Audits.
• To be a Subject matter expert (SME) in Radio Network Optimization.
• Apply advanced Radio optimization knowledge to process innovation and complex problem solving.
• Guide and advice others using technical expertise and knowledge on Radio network optimization for troubleshooting of complex technical issues.

Radio Network BP Development:

• Create new applications\Projects for BP using expertise in Radio planning.
• Works across team, department and across the organization in BP plan preparation.
• Understand the business scenarios and suggest and create appropriate solution & fine tune BP &  check performance.
• To be a Subject matter expert (SME) in Radio Network planning for BP
• Troubleshoot complex Radio planning issues and provide guidance across all levels.
• Apply advanced Radio planning knowledge to process innovation and complex problem solving.
• Guide and advice others using technical expertise and knowledge on planning for troubleshooting of complex technical issues.

Network Rollout Support:

• Advice and assist subordinates on Reviewing and providing designing revision suggestion inline to optimization guidelines

Provide guidance and support to other teams:

• Advice customer complain management team on optimization activities for customer experience enhancement initiatives

Compliance Management: 

• Advice subordinates on implementing Network planning and optimization policies, compliance guide lines.

Job Requirements

• B.sc degree in engineering in electronics & Telecommunication/Electrical/Mechanical /Civil/Computer from a recognized University (accredited by relevant body of the relevant country)
• Minimum 10 years’ experience radio network planning/Optimization is required
• Excellent knowledge in radio technologies such as 2G,3G, 4G, 5G and systems and operations.
• Excellent  knowledge in Network Planning & Optimization 
• Sound Knowledge  with Radio network planning and optimization tools.
• Sound knowledge in Network Monitoring Tools 
• Very good Project Management skills
• Fundamental knowledge in financial KPIs/parameters and impact to them from business decisions/operations.
