Position Summary

The salary scale for these full-time positions will range from 2,600,000Riel to 2,800,000Riel based on previous background.

The positions will work in the Happy Cambodian Children Project-HCC, which has annual funding of about $1.5 million each year with an open-ended time frame of 10 to 20 years. HCC is implemented by KAPE, which is a well-established local NGO specializing in educational development with a portfolio of 20 ongoing projects across Cambodia and an annual funding portfolio of about $5 million. KAPE has been chosen as the partner agency of the Kinchan Foundation, which funds HCC. HCC uses an integrated project design to support 84 state primary schools and is implemented in close cooperation with District and Provincial Offices of Education in 8 target provinces. This project is currently in its 8th year of operation and is embarking on a rapid expansion of project sites.

Project-Based Mentors will be responsible for increasing the quality of student learning outcomes at the primary school level.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Pedagogical Support: Provide pedagogical advice to teachers, including licensee, agreement, and contract teachers. Support teachers in helping students with special learning needs achieve proficiency in reading and mathematics.
• Mentoring & Observation: Under the supervision of the Senior Mentor, organize school-based mentoring programs involving classroom observations, remote observations via the Observic Mentoring Platform, individual teacher conferencing, career path planning support, and video archiving of teaching practices.
• Community & Parental Engagement: Conduct meetings with parents and students to promote reading, visit families of students experiencing learning difficulties, and assist deputy directors in organizing Community Vocational Study Tours (PLC).
• Resource & Activity Mobilization: Work with schools to mobilize resources for purchasing books and teaching materials, and help create creative reading promotion activities (e.g., peer tutoring, study clubs).
• Technical Work & Planning: Organize technical work reflections with stakeholders, develop monthly plans focusing on literacy and numeracy support, and train stakeholders and officials on teaching techniques.
• Assessments & Coordination: Assist in administering EGRA and EGMA baseline, midline, and endline tests, and attend program-wide meetings as requested by the Program Manager.

Languages

• English - Good is preferred

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in In Education (graduates from NIE/NGPRC are encouraged to apply)

Work History

• Working in the education sector as a teacher/outstanding teacher, ideally within an NGO setting. (Contract and agreement teachers are strongly encouraged to apply) for 2 to 3 years

General & Technical Skills

• Teacher observation and mentoring experience.
• Experience with Child-Friendly Schools (CFS) interventions or school models in primary/pre-primary settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), AI tools, and other digital devices.
• English communication skills are an advantage.

Soft Skills

• Skills & Competencies Ability to build good relationships with government counterparts and mentor key stakeholders.
• Ability to travel independently to target schools by motorbike or other vehicle.
